A 4-star hotel in N'Gouja project in southern island

Saturday 25 August 2007

A building permit application for a 4 star hotel suites and bungalows N'Gouja in the south of the island, was filed in late July with the Prefecture of Mayotte. It would replace the hotel that is there now. N'Gouja is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island but also the most frequented on weekends by the Metropolitan.

Today there are 10 hotels and about thirty houses and furnished rooms in Mayotte. This represents a total accommodation capacity of 730 beds. The largest hotel has 40 rooms.

Although the accommodation capacity has tripled in 10 years, it remains low compared to many natural attractions of the island (lagoon safe and very rich in corals and fauna, beautiful beaches almost deserted lined with coconut trees, vegetation Tropical preserved population, gay, traditions alive ...).
This low capacity explains in part the lack of tour operators for this destination.
For the record, in the same area, Reunion and Mauritius islands, it is true, 6 to 7 times larger than Mayotte, have a capacity of 11 000 and 21 403 beds (31 December 2006).
