Costa Cruises waives return to Mayotte
Wednesday 12 November 2008
The adventure of Costa Cruises in Mayotte has lasted a year.
On 5 March 2008, we wrote that the group had already announced that it would return to the island in the lagoon for the next season (from December 2008 to March 2009).
But with a bigger ship: the Costa Europa, which can carry 1700 passengers with 600 crew members.
This was mainly due to the note of appreciation (4 out of a maximum of 5) by hikers, through their day on the island. Despite the unusually frequent rains have watered Mayotte in January and February 2008.
The challenge was not easy to raise, certainly. But many on the island, were rubbing their hands: taxis, artisans who settled in the parking lot of the marina from the days of the cruise, carriers (buses), restaurants, the association that manages the salt museum Bandrélé, kayak hire, Blue Ylang, responsive agency who was in charge of this operation, the Tourism Committee of Mayotte and all those who think that economic development of Mayotte is through controlled tourism ... .
Today, because some work has not been made (pontoon, parking ...), Costa Cruises will likely give up dock in Mayotte.
