320 000 tonnes in 2000, 490 000 in 2006: the increase in tonnage handled by the port of Longoni. Two thirds of the tonnage of imports are to Mayotte.

In 2006, most imports from the mainland (51.2%) and, far behind, China (5.7%) - 2.5-fold increase in imports from that country between 2002 and 2006 ! - Brazil (3.3%). After Maurice (2.9%), South Africa (2.8%), Thailand (2.4%) ....

What is the nature of these imports? Food (22%), machinery and appliances (18%), transport equipment (14%), chemicals (9%).

And Mayotte, exports to? Shortly. Fish, scrap metal, vanilla and ylang-ylang. To the Comoros (70.3%), Reunion (22.6%), Madagascar (6.3%). Purpose of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mayotte: export skills and gray matter.
