Tourists in Mayotte: from metropolitan and Réunion

40 672 tourists came to Mayotte in 2007 (against 31 137 in 2006, 38 763 in 2005, 32 191 in 2004, 23 000 in 2003).
They are as follows: 13 803 affinity for tourism (people from seeing friends or family), 12 995 for leisure and 12 243 for business tourism (1 and 631 for other reasons) .
Compared with 2006 is that leisure has increased the most because it is one that had fallen the most, because of the outbreak of chikungunya. But it falls short of 2004 figures: 17 857 tourists approval came this year in Mayotte!
However, the tourism business is growing steadily: in 3712 in 2004, 6 370 in 2005, 9 773 in 2006 and 12 ... 243.
Where are these tourists? Before any of Reunion (18 475) and France (15 469). But 6 728 people from other countries this figure up sharply from previous years, due particularly to the Internet - as the site that you find to learn Mayotte Island still little known and very few sold on catalogs.
Finally, for 60% of tourist amenities (a percentage that appears below) is their first trip to Mayotte.
