Major renovation site for the Picasso Museum in Paris

Nestled in the heart of the Marais in Paris, the Picasso Museum, just closed its doors for at least two years. This museum dates from 1985. It will be the subject of a massive modernization and restoration standards.
"The areas to redevelop, the order of 3 000 square meters useful include reception areas, space-related educational and cultural activities, and exhibition halls," says the museum on its site.
This rehabilitation should help increase the number of visitors today 500 000 people per year, including 65% foreigners. The director, Anne Baldassarri, interviewed by the daily 20 Minutes, discusses the 800 000 visitors, or even a million. This work will also, to expose more works.
"For over twenty years, the collection has not changed, the tables do not even shake up! It is a completely outdated concept, "says Anne Baldassarri. The public is more demanding today. However, without exhibition, museum dies. Therefore we plan to offer three per year in the future. "
In total, the site should cost "about thirty million. The museum will finance the construction up to two-thirds of the total, the Ministry of Culture covering the remaining costs.
