The United States become the second tourist destination in the world

Wednesday 15 July 2009

WTO (indicated that the United States was again the second tourist destination in the world after France and in Spain.

According to the WTO, "in arrivals, France remains the leading tourist destination in the world (79 million tourists) and third in revenue. The United States is No. 1 in revenue and now 2nd in arrivals recovered after the place they had ceded to Spain following the events of 11 September 2001. Although the crisis seems to redistribute the cards to certain destinations, the economic environment remains gloomy. Indeed, the WTO counts 247 million international tourist arrivals for the first four months of 2009, against 269 million over the same period of 2008. And forecasts for the full year 2009, announced to -2% in May, rose today to -6%.
