The most beautiful beaches of Mayotte

Plage du Préfet

Take control of the tourist map IGN to not get lost and follow us to discover the most beautiful beaches of Mayotte. White sand, tan, brown or black depending on the case. Often deserted beaches. Often hemmed turquoise water and flats regularly "grazed" by the turtles and ending with walls of coral (the "wall") inhabited by fish, all within 300 meters from the shore!

Our favorite tracks: the beach of the Prefect (the name "official" is Mstanga Parouani-Titi), the beach Tsoha, Fanou the beach, the beach Apondra (known Mliha beach), beach Sazilé Be, beach Soho The small beach Lighthouse, the beach north of the island M'Tzamboro, beaches islands of Bandrélé and Bambo.

The beach sand brown nearest Mamoudzou: Lighthouse Beach, south of Mamoudzou just before Hamouro.

Accuracy: M'Tsanga - or Mtsanga - means "beach" in Chimaoré.

Some tips

  • check the tide schedules (some beaches are found at high tide, reduced to the bare minimum)
  • if possible, carry a parasol to the dark canvas
  • chaussez you baskets for beaches that require a small step approach
  • Do not bring valuable things on the beach or entrust them to a neighbor (which is not obvious because, on the beaches need a march of approach, it is often only)
