Seychelles: 210 000 for the protection of some of its marine areas

Three local groups engaged in environmental protection has received funding of nearly 210 000 for the protection of marine areas in the Seychelles. This is Marine Parks Authority (MPA), Island Conservation Society (ICS) and the Seychelles Islands Foundation (SIF).

This fund comes from the Regional Program for the Sustainable Management of Coastal Areas of Indian Ocean countries (Regional Program for the Sustainable Management of the Coastal Zones of the Indian Ocean Countries - Recomap).
The Marine Parks Authority will use these funds for the renovation and improvement of the infrastructure of Curieuse Marine Park, Island Conservation Society dedicated to improving the management of the natural reserve of the island Aride and the Seychelles Islands Foundation dedicate to Aldabra, World Heritage site by Unesco.
