A museum dedicated to the vanilla and ylang-ylang

Discover the history of vanilla and ylang-ylang, "two plants perfume which still exist today, several years ago, the time of the great colonial domains of the twentieth century to the first and still recently for the second, enriched the island.

Today it is still several producers working for the rebirth of these two streams of income.
Panels full of explanations very educational trace the history of their transformation and economic history of these two plants. Photos and stills round out the story. All in a beautiful house in wood and other natural materials, with great varangue where you feel good.

A few steps from the museum, a path "ethnobotany" - not very well-highlights three major groups of plants Mahoran traditional: food (many varieties of bananas), ornamental and medicinal.

These two achievements are the work of the Association of Naturalists Mayotte, founded in 1999.
